Wednesday 17th July 2024. July's speaker was Steven van Mil, the CEO of the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and Sanctuary, telling of the challenges to set it up and now maintain it. The shed is interested in supporting this venture by helping with its infrastructure and making commodities to sell in their gift shop.
Wednesday 19th June 2024. At this BBQ we heard from Ian Sillarof the secret like of native bee colonies. This was very pertinent now that the club has a native bee hive and is planning to slpit it in the near future.
Wednesday 22nd May 2024. Our next speaker was Chris Reynolds, a local historian who has written a book 'What a Capital Idea', a different perspective of the history of Australia.
Wednesday 17th April 2024. We started a new activity of having a speaker at our monthy BBQ. Our first speaker was Jonathan Rodwell, a member of the 'Dignity Freedom Network' who spoke of the plight of the Dalit people in rural India.
Tuesday 26th March 2024. Our club hosted the 'Zone 12 Mens Shed Association Muster Meeting'. It was well attended by representatives of eight other sheds. As always it was a great opportunity to learn what other sheds are up to and network with their members.
Wednesday 21st December 2023. A farewell party to Rob Knight who is moving to Maryborough, Queensland. He has been an active and lively member for many years and is famous for his sculpures and carvings - shark, prawn, digerydoo, walking stick, knife handles to name a few. We'll miss you mate.


Wednesday 13th December 2023. The club held its Christmas party for members and partners with over 40 people attending for a Christmas spread and good cheer!!
Saturday 18th November 2023. Another successful open day was held at the shed with over 100 people attending. Numerous demonstrations - latheing/scroll sawing/wood carving fascinated onlookers. Morning tea and a sausage sizzle



Tuesday 10th October 2023. A muster of Mens Sheds clubs was held at the Bangalow Mens Shed. Ten members of the club attended.

26 -27th August 2023. The club ran a stall in the Alstonville Craft Fair at the Alstonville Showground, organised by Quota. We were able to showcase and sell our many wooden products as well as advertise our club abd attract new members

12th August 2023. Another productive Bunnings BBQ
July 2023 Vice President Noel and several members including Anthony, Pat, Graeme and Barry delivered planter boxes, benches and tables to Wardell School for an outdoor garden setting. The wood was donated by Bunnings and the Ballina Mens shed built the equipment. The boxes were filled and planted during the morning activity.


22nd April 2023. Another successful Bunnings BBQ completed adding to our funds. Thanks Bunnings.
14th March 2023.
The Australian Men’s Shed Association Zone 12 meeting was hosted by our shed. Members from many of the 15 Sheds in the Zone attended. Everyone gathered at the shed and after morning tea moved to the RSL where each shed shared their experiences, both challenges and highlights.

The Greater Banks Northern Rivers Community Funding Program donated $500 to our Shed. Many thanks for the kind donation.

Saturday 17th December 2022. A very successful Bunnings BBQ was run by an enthusiastic team and made a record profit for the club. Many thanks to all those who participated
Wednesday 14th December 2022. Our Christmas party was a great success with over 40 attending to joint in the good cheer and delicious lunch
Wednesday November 16th 2022 The AGM was held and a new committee was elected. Congratulations President Pat Braz, Vice president Noel Campbell, Secretary Pat Fields, treasurer Mark McMahon and committee members Bob Sheldrick, Terry Naughtin and Anthony Stone.
Saturday September 24th 2022. We had our first open day when any member of the public can visit and check out our facilities. Over 200 people attended and several new members joined. We had a huge surprise when the Ballina Lions Club gave us a donation of $1000.
Saturday 23rd July 2022: A stall at the Alstonville Marker proved profiatble and gave the Mens Shed good advertising

Wednesday 22nd June 2022 - the monthly BBQ was replaced by Val's finger licking chicken delights
May 19th 2022 - several members attended the Mens Shed regional meeting in Pottsville
Thursday 26th March 2022. A working bee was organised to move all the wood into the new shed
Saturday 18th December 2021 - An all day pre-Christmas stall at Bunnings to sell our wares and raffle the wonderful wooden John Deere digger toy.

Thursday 16th December 2021- Mens Shed Christmas Party
A feast of prawns, ham, steak and salads. A unique hammering competition.

Sunday 12th December - a Bunnings BBQ raised more funds - Thanks to all the volunteers who manned it. Thanks Bunnings for the booking.
Thursday 9th December - an evening stall at Bunnings to sell our wares before Christmas. Thanks Bunnings for hosting us.
Wednesday 3rd November Initiation of the new BBQ area, the first of many BBQs now scheduled for the first Wednesday of every month

Thursday to Saturday, 27-29th May
A stall is held in Ballina Fair to sell our wares - bread and cheese boards, toys, serviette holders - all wonderful items to raise much needed funds.
19th May The manager of the CBA bank visited the shed to present us with a cheque for $500 donated by the staff. Thank you CBA staff for your kind donation.

Saturday 15th May
Ten volunteers manned the Bunnings BBQ for a fund raising.
