OUR STORY

The Ballina Community Men’s Shed has been in operation in Ballina since 2011. In that time they have had over 100 members, completed more than 250 orders and helped numerous community groups in practical ways;  boomerang blanks for Bunjum Aboriginal Co-op; a chicken coop for a local kindergarten; 100 bird nesting boxes for a local wildlife project.

Many members make specialised wooden merchanise to sell at local markets; multipurpose coat hangers, chopping blocks, candle sticks, napkin holders, book ends, wooden toys.

The Ballina Community Men’s Shed initially had a woodwork workshop at Southern Cross K-12 School.  This proved to be too small and we now  operate  at 44 Fisheries Creek Road in a new purpose built shed alongside the original house that still serves as office, storage and meeting room.
